Such a handsome fellow with a galaxy in his eyes, this male Megachile or Leaf Cutter bee is showing off his stance.  Known for parading and patrolling the best patches in our garden, the unique fringing on his legs are used to tempt the females with his good looks.  Another vital pollinator in our native spaces, and the garden too, Leaf Cutter bees have the ability to cut a perfect semicircle out of leaves such as hardenbergia, which the females use as baby blankets for their larvae.  They are one of the most personable and easily spotted bees in our garden, and lots of fun to watch as they go about their day.
