Also known as Teddy Bear bees, this absolute whopper of a female was a regular visitor to my salvia patch in the summer season just gone. In the same genus as the Blue banded bees, but larger, I had not seen any of these adorable bees for some years. However, once I started planting specifically for the pollinators, these gorgeous bees now visit my garden every day routinely during the season. Hilariously, I have found they often take exception to any hats I wear in the garden and will give me a wide berth if I have one on!!
